Responsibilities

Job Summary: As a Field Apprentice Intern, you will work closely with experienced professional with our organization to gain practical knowledge and skills related to their chosen field. This internship is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are eager to learn, grow, and gain hands on experience on a construction project. You will actively contribute to projects, collaborate with team members, and receive guidance from mentors, enabling you to build a strong foundation for your future career. This is an entry-level position ideal for individuals who are passionate about building and eager to develop a career in construction.

 

 

Responsibilities and Essential Duties include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Assist carpenters in measuring, cutting, shaping, and assembling materials following provided blueprints and specifications, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
  • Engage in hands-on activities to develop practical skills and knowledge of construction means and methods.
  • Help with the preparation of construction sites, including clearing debris, organizing tools and materials.
  • Learn and apply proper techniques for framing and rough / finishing carpentry.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to company and industry safety guidelines.
  • Follow instructions from experienced tradesmen and ask questions to clarify tasks and gain knowledge.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and accurate completion of projects.
  • Continuously develop skills and knowledge by actively participating in training programs and on the job certification classes.
  • Uphold high standards of professionalism, work ethic, and integrity while representing the company.

 


Education - Skills - Knowledge - Qualifications & Experience

Education/Qualifications/Experience/Skills:

  • High school diploma / G.E.D. required or currently enrolled in a relevant educational program (e.g. university, college, technical school)
  • Basic knowledge of carpentry tools and equipment.
  • Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and adapt to changing work environments.
  • Strong attention to detail and precision in executing tasks.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to learn, take direction, and follow established procedures.
  • Reliable and punctual, demonstrating a strong work ethic and commitment to responsibilities.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to safety regulations.
  • Must be able to withstand noise, fumes, airborne particles, etc. associated with construction sites.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
