Job Description

Responsibilities

Brasfield & Gorrie is seeking a MEP Manager to lead the effort in coordinating and managing the Commissioning process on Mission Critical projects. This candidate will work with the Project team and Owners Vendors to ensure successful completion of all MEP trade work.

Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Review Contract Documents, making suggestions/recommendations as they relate to the MEP trades
  • Review MEP, OFCI submittals and shop drawings to make sure they align with the project drawings and specifications.
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with the project design and construction teams, both internal and external to the client organization.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other construction professionals to ensure that all MEP systems are integrated seamlessly into the overall project design.
  • Assist with the management of MEP subcontractors throughout duration of the project (Construction through Commissioning and Turnover to Owner)
  • Implement Brasfield & Gorrie’s Cx process throughout the project from Level 1 to Level 5 of Commissioning.
  • Facilitate quality assurance program for owner-furnished equipment including review of specifications, submittals, FWT, freight/logistics, care/custody, protection, installation, startup & commissioning.
  • Manage Commissioning Software (CxAlloy) for the project from checklist completion to Issue management.
  • Review and Approve MOPS for Energizations/Tie ins/Fill and Flush etc.
  • Review Project documents related to installation and equipment, E.g., Torque, Testing, Startup Reports etc.
  • Coordinate and Lead Equipment walkdowns to inspect and sign off for Energizations.
  • Develop and Manage the Commissioning schedule working with Subcontractors and OFCI Vendors for durations and sequence.
  • Work closely with the CxA to coordinate their schedule and assist with the completion of Level 4 & 5.
  • Actively participate and/or lead Internal and Client meetings related to turnover and commissioning.
  • Supervise, develop, and mentor project staff, if applicable

Education - Skills - Knowledge - Qualifications & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience with MEP construction and commissioning management
  • A relevant degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field would be an advantage.
  • Thorough knowledge of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing and low-voltage systems
  • General understanding of Building Codes, Mechanical Codes, Electrical Codes and Plumbing Codes as they relate to construction of project
  • Strong experience in managing relationships with owners representatives, architects, engineers and clients on a professional level while supervising subcontractors and vendors is a priority.
  • Possess strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Commissioning experience on large-scale Mission Critical projects is preferred
