Position Summary
The IT Field Services Technician 1 plays a crucial role in establishing and maintaining network connectivity across Brasfield & Gorrie job sites. This position requires expertise in deploying and managing networks that provide the backbone for the seamless data flow needed in construction operations.
Responsibilities and Essential Duties include the following (other duties may be assigned):
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Superintendents, and the IT Networking team to plan, install, and support a customized network infrastructure tailored to each project's unique needs throughout its lifecycle.
- Travel to and set-up jobsite networks, including internet gateways, switches, access points, and microwave networking equipment.
- Partner with internet service providers and jobsite leadership to procure and install reliable internet connections where appropriate.
- Act as a liaison, coordinating with the IT Service Desk, regional IT Support Technicians, and Networking team to resolve network issues on jobsites.
- Create and update knowledge articles on troubleshooting steps and processes for both end-users and IT staff.
- Travel frequently to jobsites within the region, providing IT support to ensure project goals are met, aligning with company and IT policies.
- Partner with IT Networking team to manage jobsite network assets, including procurement, deployment, technical support, and retirement.
- Participate in quarterly (weekend) IT systems maintenance to ensure that regional offices and jobsites remain fully operational and ready for use after maintenance activities are complete.
- Serve as the primary contact for jobsite AV support, ensuring effective operation and maintenance of AV systems.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), completing OSHA safety courses, and a deep personal commitment to safety in all areas of work
Education - Skills - Knowledge - Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant technology related field required.
- Proven experience in network setup, configuration, and troubleshooting, focusing on field deployments preferred.
- Strong understanding of internet connectivity solutions in construction settings preferred.
- Familiarity with internet service technologies, including fiber, coax, cellular, and satellite systems like Starlink.
- Demonstrated experience in a customer-focused IT support role.
- Familiarity with asset management lifecycle is preferred.
- Experience with business-grade Audio/Video technologies preferred.
- Willingness to travel up to 60% between office and jobsite locations as needed.
