Position Summary
Brasfield & Gorrie, a rapidly growing, $6bn+ general contractor with 13 offices located across the Southeast and Texas, is seeking a Corporate Finance Associate to join its Finance team in its Birmingham, Alabama office. The Corporate Finance Associate will support the Director of Finance and CFO in (i) performing financial modeling and forecasting, (ii) conducting a variety of financial analyses and research projects to support critical decisions, and (iii) developing business cases for short- and long-term strategic objectives. Activities will vary widely from day-to-day and the environment will be fast-paced. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented with a high financial acumen and will operate with a heart of service, a positive attitude, and a strong work ethic.

 

Responsibilities and Essential Duties include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Perform financial analyses and financial modeling
  • Assist with corporate forecasting, capital allocation, and complex scenario analyses
  • Gather, consolidate, and analyze operating and financial results to monitor investment / business performance and analyze trends and drivers
  • Track key performance indicators through reporting and dashboards
  • Prepare reports and presentations to be delivered to company leadership.
  • Assist in the analysis and presentation of the annual budget
  • Lead various other ad hoc FP&A projects
  • Collect, analyze, and summarize peer performance information to create and maintain benchmarking analysis
  • Partner with management and cross-functional stakeholders on financial modeling in order to provide insights into the business
  • Serve as an analytical resource, aiding in decision support on a variety of ad-hoc requests
  • Review and verify client credit capacity and project financing plans and assist in other financial risk management initiatives
  • Research, profile, and evaluate strategic areas for growth, investment opportunities, industries, subsectors, and geographic markets
  • Involved in the preparation of business cases supporting corporate development and capital deployment efforts
  • Maintain a collaborative relationship with colleagues and project teams
  • Demonstrate superior customer service to both internal and external groups

Education - Skills - Knowledge - Qualifications & Experience

    • 3+ years of relevant work experience working in corporate finance, FP&A, audit and advisory, investment banking, private equity, management consulting, or other financial function preferred
    • Understanding of basic accounting principles and familiarity with financial statements
    • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and financial modeling skills
    • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
